Your narrative is a powerful journey of service and self-discovery. Here's a concise rephrasing:Three day post graduation, I embarked on my first plane journey to MCRD Parris Island, NC. Graduating from boot camp and the School of Infantry as a machine gunner, I swiftly launched into my initial deployment just six months later.Four deployments ensued, with my final assignment being a combat replacement in Sangin, Afghanistan, with1/5. The subsequent three years saw me as an instructor at the IOC before my departure. Upon returning home, the transition proved challenging, struggling to secure employment and find a sense of community. It wasn'tuntil 2016 that I realized I wasn't living up to the purpose for which others sacrificed their lives for me to be here.

Jeric -
After my military service, I shifted my perspective and joined a bustling barbershop. This change provided the opportunity to connect with diverse individuals while serving them. It was during this time that I met my coach,Tommy Costa, who persuaded me to try Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Instantly hooked, my life took a positive turn—I began taking better care of myself, reduced my alcohol intake, and found renewed purpose. Within a year, I established my own barbershop, met my wife, rediscovered my faith, and initiated events to support fellow veterans. This journey marked a significant transformation in my life.

Question 6 - What inspired you to pursue your job?
Jeric -
My primary focus now is on serving fellow veterans, recognizing that service doesn't end when one separates from the military. What I committed to at 17 continues to drive me at 37. I founded the Veteran Bushido Brotherhood, a 501.3c organization aimed at connecting veterans with a community beyond the military. We
offer a three-month scholarship along with all the necessary equipment to kickstart their fitness journey. Our goal is to illustrate the value of group fitness without imposing an upfront cost on the veteran. We believe that once they recognize this value, they'll take the reins and transform their lives.
