A history with the badge

Mike has served in the Army with the 82ND AIRBORNE DIVISION for three years, then the Florida Army National Guard, on top of that, Mike has also completed Law Enforcement training to become a Police Officer.

An active lifestyle

Mike is currently a Federal Police Officer as well as an elite athlete with REDCON1.

The Interview

Question 1 - Where were you born?
Michael Degraeve - I was born in Marlborough Massachusetts by grew up in Pinellas County Florida.

Question 2 - What school(s) did you attend?
Michael Degraeve - I attended Boca Ciega High, and completed Law Enforcement training through Southeastern Public Safety Institute.

Question 3 - What did you do after graduating?
Michael Degraeve - I joined and served in the Army with the 82ND AIRBORNE DIVISION for three years, then the Florida Army National Guard.

Question 4 - What was your first job?
Michael Degraeve - My first job was a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne.

Question 5 - What do you do for a living?
Michael Degraeve - I am currently a Federal Police officer and an Athlete with REDCON1.

Question 6 - What inspired you to pursue your job?
Michael Degraeve - I have the need to serve, and Law Enforcement was just something I've always wanted to do. So it was a perfect fit.

Michael Degraeve - TEAM, PERSEVERANCE, HONOR.

Question 8 - What are some of your accomplishments?
Michael Degraeve - Becoming a trooper in the army, beating alcohol, being a good husband and father, becoming an Elite Athlete with REDCON1.

Question 9 - What are your goals and aspirations?
Michael Degraeve - My goal is to use my journey to try and help people through theirs.

Question 10 - Is there anything else you would like to say to our veteran community and customers?
Michael Degraeve - I want to say that the military years weren't your best years. It only primed you for the rest of your life. If you're struggling it's ok to reach out. The key is to get up and go. Go do something to better yourself. Anything, just get up and go!
